Weight-Loss Challenge UPDATE

UPDATE: As of 6/24/08 Johnny's weight is...drum roll please... 231 lbs. In Sept.  he'll be walking from Buffalo to Toronto! To practice, he has already walked from Hamburg to Buffalo. Email him, call him, cheer him on!

The Johnny Juarez Weight-Loss Challenge
Johnny Juarez, an internationally-touring Christian singer known for his new English-language CD, "Here I Go," is pictured here at 266 pounds. He knows he needs to lose some pounds, so follow his progress on BuffaloChristian.com as he works to get to his goal of 200 pounds! Right now, Johnny is currently at 250 pounds, having lost 16 pounds in the past two weeks! He has been eating turkey, chicken, and salmon. He cut out a lot of salt and carbs from his diet. He recently dined at Subway and had a turkey sub and water.

As a recording artist he's in front of huge crowds who all, whether we like it or not, judge him based on his looks. At one time, he was about 180 pounds. Then he got up to the 220 - 230 range when he took a desk job, and in recent times, he ballooned to 266 pounds. Johnny has since made the decision to eat healthy and he works out running on a treadmill on an almost daily basis these days.

Do you have some tips for Johnny to help him maintain the weight loss lifestyle he's seeking at this time? Do you have any encouraging words for him? Do you have a story of your own dramatic weight loss that can inspire him on his journey to 200 pounds? Please email him at elementos@johnnyjuarez.com to let him know your cheering him on.

(Stay tuned to www.buffalochristian.com to read about his progress, his struggles, and whether or not he reaches his goal.)

Artist Spotlight: Johnny Juarez
ChristianMusicDaily.com introduces you to new artists worth knowing about. In this email, you'll get to know Johnny Juarez.

Johnny Juarez: Here I Go
If you like Casting Crowns, then you'd like Johnny Juarez, a singer-songwriter with a strong voice known worldwide for his ministry-oriented concerts combining interactive fun and spiritual themes.

Johnny Juarez is a devoted husband and father of two little ones who likes taking time during his lively concerts to share Biblical principles with the audience, as well as his personal testimony of how God restored his life and family.

Already well known by Spanish-language audiences for his numerous past CDs, Johnny Juarez is eager to take on a new challenge: crossing over to the English- language market. If you met him in person and spoke with him, you wouldn't know he spoke Spanish because his English is flawless, and when he sings in English, his vocals will remind you of David Phelps, one of Christian music's strongest vocalists ever.

The winner of a 2006 MAJA Award (honoring Gospel artists in Canada) for his strong pop-rock vocal abilities, Johnny Juarez is currently on tour in support of "Here I Go," his latest CD. The album of ten pop-rock songs is set to take Johnny Juarez's passionate singing style to whole new audiences. Produced with the help of Sean Spicer and Henry Gonzalez, "Here I Go" is gaining airplay on radio stations in Canada and the United States with the powerful title track, as well as stand-out tracks like "You Are There" and "Let Me Tell You."

Seeing himself as an adult contemporary artist, Johnny Juarez hopes his latest project will appeal to fans of popular artists like Casting Crowns, Salvador, and Big Daddy Weave.

If you would like your church to be a stop on the "Here I Go Tour," call 716-881-0757 (U.S.) or 416-742-9219 (Canada), and for more info, visit www.hereigo.org.

MARCH 12 2008

Johnny Juarez & Sean Spicer Team Up
With World Vision Canada.

Their music is uplifting, inspirational and very encouraging. It is no wonder why when Johnny Juarez & Sean Spicer were approached by World Vision Canada, they immediatley decided to say yes and helping raise awareness and support for the humanitarian organization providing relief to the poor worldwide.

No strangers to mission work as both Johnny and Sean have had the chance of traveling to countries where there are many less fortunate people. In 2005 Sean traveled to Santiago, Phillipines with his wife, to help build a church and different facilities for an underdeveloped community.

In 2003 Johnny spent several days in Dirriamba, Nicaragua
ministering to children and the local community. He also had the chance to help out MEMO (Medical Equipment Modernization Opportunity) out of Thunder Bay, Ontario in 2006, which sends equipment to Cuba and the Phillipines.
He has also done several work with Non-Profits that help children, such as the concert he did in Vigo,Spain last year.

Both Johnny and Sean look forward to being a blessing to World Vision Canada  and the many million lives they will be able to change with their music.

Johnny Juarez's "Here I Go Tour" soon will be stopping in London, ON. Sat. March 29 @8p.m. at London First Nazarene 176 Wellington Rd. Admission is free.

If you would like your church to be a stop on the "Here I Go Tour," please call 716-881-0757 (U.S.) or 416-742- 9219 (Canada), and for more info, visit www.hereigo.org.

A great time for music in the Holy Arc region
Southern Ontario and Upstate NY: lots of Christian concerts
Article Written & Published By Mark Weber BuffaloChristian.com

It's an exciting time to be living in the Holy Arc region, here in the megalopolis of Toronto, Buffalo, and Rochester. Even though we're not in the Bible Belt, perhaps you could call our section of North America the Bible Broach. Our area tends to get a lot of Christian music concerts because of strong promoters like Family Life Network, Canada Christian College, and Kingdom Bound, which, as you know, is bringing Casting Crowns to Rochester this March.

If you like Casting Crowns, then you'd like Johnny Juarez, a singer-songwriter known worldwide for his ministry-oriented concerts combining interactive fun and spiritual themes. Johnny Juarez likes taking time during his lively concerts to share Biblical principles with the audience, as well as his personal testimony of how God restored his life and family.

The winner of a 2006 MAJA Award (honoring Gospel artists in Canada) for his strong pop-rock vocal abilities, Johnny Juarez is getting ready to tour in support of "Here I Go," his latest CD releasing this month.

Johnny Juarez's "Here I Go Tour" will reach cities in Southern Ontario and Upstate New York this Spring, kicking off March 8th in London, Ontario, at North Park Community Church.
