ABOUT 100 MILE WALK 4 LIFE

Buffalo, N.Y. - Sept. 7, 2008 Recording artist Johnny Juarez recently completed a successful 100 mile "walk 4 life" from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to Buffalo, New York. His three day journey involved two countries and one purpose: to raise awareness about global child poverty. Juarez is a Word Vision Artist Associate who helps draw attention to the plight of the world's poor children, whom can be sponsored for $30-$35 a month by people in The States and Canada. World Vision helps clothe, feed, and educate thousands of poor kids worldwide.

Juarez has had a busy year. He took up walking in order to lose weight, shedding more than 50 pounds in a few short months. Though known for singing in Spanish, he recently released an English-language album, "Here I Go," which won a 2008 Maja Award in Toronto last week. His 100 Mile "walk 4 life" took place September 2-4, and involved his wife, brother, and parents. After he arrived back home in suburban Buffalo, the twentysomething singer-songwriter was interviewed by Neil Boron on WDCX-99.5FM, Buffalo's powerful Christian radio station. In a few days, Juarez will be heading to Spain for a string of concert dates, and later this year he'll be doing a cross Canada tour, as well.
